WE know what a criminal White House looks like -- The Bush White House

Frank Rich Tells It Like It Is:  "And so we’re back where we started in the summer of 2001, with even shark attacks and Chandra Levy’s murder (courtesy of a new Washington Post investigation) returning to the news. We are once again distracted and unprepared while the Taliban and bin Laden’s minions multiply in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This, no less than the defiling of the Constitution, is the legacy of an administration that not merely rationalized the immorality of torture but shackled our national security to the absurdity that torture could easily fix the terrorist threat.

That’s why the Bush White House’s corruption in the end surpasses Nixon’s. We can no longer take cold comfort in the Watergate maxim that the cover-up was worse than the crime. This time the crime is worse than the cover-up, and the punishment could rain down on us all."

A good read.

Peace in Our Time" and "Mission Accomplished" = Two of a Kind

Appeasement - certainly, "peace in our time" represents a great foreign policy/strategic/military blunder. But now, now we have "mission accomplished" to represent another great foreign policy/strategic/military blunder.

"Mission accomplished" - yet the mission never was factual, it certainly wasn't accomplished, the unintended results have been great and negative, incompetence is demonstrated from the Oval Office and the neo-cons and our 'president' are discredited. The Republicans are not only broken, they're in disarray and routed.

Bush's "Mission Accomplished" quote is a current day equivalent to Neville Chamberlain's "Peace in our Time." Those quotes equally symbolize and illustrate failure. Bush and Chamberlain both will be remembered forever as disasters in office.

For John McCain to question Barack Obama's preparation for job is a real hoot, like Chamberlain atacking Churchill because he wasn't prepared for the job. John McCain will, if elected, continue George W. Bush's disatrous policies, the policies of a man and a party that has had a Katrina like effect upon our nation. That's why McCain must be defeated.

Its Not the Destination, It's the Journey - But I Think Bush and McCain are Lost

I can't tell from here who will be the Democrat nominee, both Obama and Clinton are certainly excellent prospects.

However, George W. Bush's blunders have killed over 4000 Americans, we've p-issed away trillions of dollars, the national debt has doubled under his administration, countless people are losing their homes, fuel costs have doubled and on their way to triple what they were since Bush took office, food shortages have appeared in the last few months, wages aren't keeping up with inflation, Bush is well on his way to delivering The Great Depression II ... and the list goes on.  Al Qaeda hasn't damaged us to the degree George W. Bush and the Republican leaders in Congress have damaged us.

And John McCain as Republican nominee offers more of the same in the form of George W. Bush's third term.  How do you think that's going to work out for him? He may as well use "Heckuva Job, Bushie" as his campaign theme.

It's Not Your Father's Republican Party

I'm not going soft, but sometimes I like these heartwarming stories, and this one truly is. In 1986, Dan Harrison was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University. On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Dan approached it very carefully.. He got down on one knee and inspected the elephant's foot and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Dan worked the wood out with his hunting knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot. The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Dan stood frozen, thinkng of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned and walked away. Dan never forgot that elephant - or the events of that day. Twenty years later, Dan was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Dan and his son, Dan Jr., were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Dan, lifted its front foot off the ground and then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man. Remembering the encounter in 1986, Dan couldn't help wondering ... Dan summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Dan's legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly. Probably wasn't the same elephant. And it's not your father's Republican Party, either. Look what it and George W. Bush have done to us.

The Bush Effect = the United States is headed in the wrong direction

Not suprisingly and actually predictable, George W. Bush is the United States' worst president.  With friends like George W. Bush, do we really need Al Qaeda?

From the New York Times:    "Americans are more dissatisfied with the country’s direction than at any time since the New York Times/CBS News poll began asking about the subject in the early 1990s, according to the latest poll.

In the poll, 81 percent of respondents said they believed that “things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track,” up from 69 percent a year ago and 35 percent in early 2003.

Although the public mood has been darkening since the early days of the war in Iraq, it has taken a new turn for the worse in the last few months, as the economy has seemed to slip into recession. There is now nearly a national consensus that the country faces significant problems.

A majority of nearly every demographic and political group — Democrats and Republicans, men and women, residents of cities and rural areas, college graduates and those who finished only high school — say that the United States is headed in the wrong direction. Seventy-eight percent of respondents said the country was worse off than five years ago; just 4 percent said it was better off.

The dissatisfaction is especially striking because public opinion usually hits its low point only in the months and years after an economic downturn, not at the beginning of one. Today, however, Americans report being deeply worried about the country even though many say their own personal finances are still in fairly good shape.

Only 21 percent of respondents said that the overall economy was in good condition, the lowest such number since late 1992, when the recession that began in the summer of 1990 had already been over for more than a year. In the latest poll, nearly two in three people said they believed the economy was in recession today."

This is George Bush's Great Depression, Not Your Grandfather's

Perhaps we could bring back some of those New Deal programs so as to help us through the Great Depression II, brought to you by the Republican Party. You see, you heard it here first - back when I wrote about it. Sometimes I'm glad I'm right, sometimes I'm not. This is not one for which I am glad.

"We knew things were bad on Wall Street, but on Main Street it may be worse. Startling official statistics show that as a new economic recession stalks the United States, a record number of Americans will shortly be depending on food stamps just to feed themselves and their families.

Dismal projections by the Congressional Budget Office in Washington suggest that in the fiscal year starting in October, 28 million people in the US will be using government food stamps to buy essential groceries, the highest level since the food assistance programme was introduced in the 1960s."

It's Still The Economy, Stupid

See what the Republicans and George W. Bush have done to America? HIgher gas prices, higher food prices, inflation at a 17 year high (and that takes us back to Bush the Elder's term) -- and added to that is wages have not kept up with that inflation - people have to make the tough choices between fuel, food, utilities -- but according to Bush the economy is 'strong.'  Just like George -he likes to use words of one syllable.

I've said it before - just like World War I had a World War II, the Great Depression II is being delivered to us courtesy of George W Bush and the GOP.

The Republican Al Qaeda

I've called George W. Bush the Al Qaeda president for, indeed, his actions have helped Al Qaeda and hurt America.  Bush's Blunder in Iraq is Exhibit #1 as to his legacy of failure.  Then we had the American Al Qaeda,  a man describing himself as an American member of al Qaeda.  But now - Now we have the Republican Al Qaeda!!

From Breitbart:  "A former congressman and delegate to the United Nations was indicted Wednesday as part of a terrorist fundraising ring that allegedly sent more than $130,000 to an al-Qaida and Taliban supporter who has threatened U.S. and international troops in Afghanistan.

The former Republican congressman from Michigan, Mark Deli Siljander, was charged with money laundering, conspiracy and obstructing justice for allegedly lying about lobbying senators on behalf of an Islamic charity that authorities said was secretly sending funds to terrorists. "

New Bush Rationale - Abramoff Corruption is a National Security Issue

The Bush Administration is now claiming that records of visits to the White House by Jack Abramoff, convicted felon Republican lobbyist who bought and paid for so many Republican congressmen and presidents, are secret.

From the Associated Press:  "The Justice Department, citing a Cold War-era court ruling, declared that the contents of the "Sensitive Security Records" cannot be publicly revealed even though they could show whether Abramoff made more visits to the White House than those already acknowledged.

"The simple act of doing so ... would reveal sensitive information about the methods used by the Secret Service to carry out its protective function," the Justice Department argued."

Abramoff and Bush Brokeback Mountain

"Why can't I quit you, Jack?"

Again and Again, it's proven -- George W. Bush is a Liar and a Criminal

Scott McClellan is the latest Bush insider to attest that George W. Bush is a liar.  The latest is that Bush along with Rove, Cheney and Scooter Libby lied to McClellan and caused McClellan to make false statements to the press.  In his new book, McClellan said, "McClellan excerpt reads: "The most powerful leader in the world had called upon me to speak on his behalf and help restore credibility he lost amid the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. So I stood at the White house briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby.

"There was one problem. It was not true.

"I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration "were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice President, the President's chief of staff, and the president himself.""

Editor and Publisher also reports, "On Tuesday, Valerie Plame had released the following statement from her new home in Santa Fe, N.M.: "I am outraged to learn that former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan confirms that he was sent out to lie to the press corps....Unfortunately, President Bush's commutation of Scooter Libby's felony sentence has short-circuited justice.... McClellan's revelations provide important support for our civil suit against those who violated our national security and maliciously destroyed my career.""

The apologists, the deniers, the naysayers and the enablers of the Bush Administration will spin and rationalize why Bush isn't a liar -- but no one with a working brain cell will buy that poultry produced fertilizer.

Update:  "President Bush has made further staff changes as a result of the mid-term elections, and has appointed the former Iraqi Information Minister, Baghdad Bob, as the White House Press Secretary, replacing Tony Snow. "
