Tea Party Branded Thomas Massie - neo-anarchist or neo-feudalist?

He's announced as a GOP candidate for 4th District Congress and in this video there are hints of paranoia and tinfoil hat.  The Tea Party brand is like jello as is their reasoning and logic.  But since when is being anti-American being patriotic?  Attacking government, tearing down government, on half-truths and lies and mangled historical context -- that's a road to disaster.  

 

Richie Farmer is Expendable and the Mica Sims Appointed Head of the GOP is Pushing Richie Out of the Lifeboat

Ky Auditor Adam Edelen will be auditing Richie Farmer's Ag department at incoming Ag Commissioner Jamie Comer's request (and at a cost to Ag of $15K).  Richie Farmer's girlfriend has been fired, allegations of misuse of funds to purchase vehicles, hotel rooms. trips to the Carribean and other sundry items (the refrigerator is still missing) have been made by employees who worked at Ag under Farmer (no pun intended).  Yes, Richie Farmer is expendable and there's no graceful way to push him over the side -- and now the question becomes:  Is David Williams next? 

Kentucky's Concerns: Unemployment, the Economy, the Deficit, Pensions -- and Adam Koenig (R-Erlanger) Focuses on Confederate Pensions?

Seriously? Adam Koenig finds an old statute from 1912 that offers a $50-a-month pension to any veteran who can prove service in the Confederate Army, akin in its antiquity to the one in Kansas where "All cars entering the city limits must first sound their horn to warn the horses of their arrival " and he makes it a big gov't criticism. Trivial does not begin to describe Koenig's thought processes. 50 years since the last Confederate vet passed away - sheesh. And this follows the recent attempt to remove the dueling term from oaths of office in Kentucky. Time to send Koenig home and get a real representative, one with a far better sense of priorities. Oh, and a sense of history and the layers of Kentucky character, too.

Richie Farmer apparently runs the Ag Commissioner's Office like eHarmonygov'tjob.com   But Farmer's former running mate, likely outgoing Senate President David Williams, made the most quotable remark about the situation"  “She told me she worked for a gynecologist.”    The Lexington HL reports that Farmer hired her only days before the November 9 election Williams/Farmer lost so badly - and at a rate of $5K per month. 

So, how about that refrigerator?

Kentucky claims title for nation's goofiest Senator. Rand Paul (Embarrassment - KY) holds title against all challengers!!

Rand Paul uses pseudoscience to assert air pollution doesn't aggravate asthma.   Contrary to real science and conclusions by medical doctors and the National Institute of Health's conclusions.  Proof once more that he'll say anything regardless of the truth of his statements. 

David (Silvio Berlusconi) Williams' Hold On the Kentucky State Senate is No Longer Quite So Strong

You knew it when, without prompting, Sen. Robert Stivers (R-Clay) came out to assure us Williams would be Senate President until at least 2013.  But the absolute shellacking Williams took from Steve Beshear in Beshear's landslide win says different.  David Williams exposed the GOP and the Tea Party as paper tigers and impotent (Well, Bill Johnson helped).  TWENTY+ points!!!  Referenced in Politico as a 'populist clown,' David Williams is seeing the sun set on his political career.  He's more like Berlusconi of Italy in his recent defeat than the facade that was the David Williams of the Senate -- until he chose to run for governor.  David Williams got one Hell of a no confidence vote yesterday - as did Berlusconi.  Twizzle Twazzle Twuzzle Twome - Time for David Williams to Go Home!!  (Ok, I dated myself - a paraphrase of an old cartoon from the 60s).

Democrats Defeat Republicans State Wide!! Beshear, Conway, Grimes, Edelen, Hollenbach Win!

Govenor Steve Beshear easily won re-election with a 21% lead in the polls on Tuesday. David Williams, characterized in one report as a 'populist clown' who tried to make the Hindu faith an issue, is seeing the sun set upon his political career.  No matter that Sen. Robert Stivers says Williams will maintain his Senate presidency until 2013 - 2013 is a long way off.

 Jack Conway won re-election with a similar margin defeating Todd P'Pool in that race. P'Pool campaigned against the federal government while Conway campaigned for the office of Kentucky Attorney General. 

Allison Lundergan Grimes defeated Republican Bill Johnson by almost a 2-1 majority.  Johnson's tinfoil hat theories about voter fraud, an attempt to both suppress the vote as well as inflame potential right wing supporters, failed miserably. Grimes maintained a steady campaign pace throughout while Johnson kept swinging for the cheap seats -- and striking out.

Adam Edelen and Todd Hollenbach also won their races.  Both ran against establishment Republicans, well funded opponents with records.  Obviously money wasn't enough to overcome their Republican records.

The only defeat suffered by Democrats on Tuesday was in the race for Commissioner of Agriculture.  Jamie Comer won in a landslide over Bob Farmer..  Some wonder whether voters thought they were voting against Richie Farmer, David Williams' erstwhile running mate.

G(et) O(ut) T(he) V(ote)!!!! GOTV!!!!!!! We don't just want to defeat the Republicans - we want to EMBARRASS them.

On November 8, 2011 Kentuckians cast their votes for various Constitutional offices including Governor, Attorney General, Treasurer, Secretary of State, Commissioner of Agriculture and others.  Democratic prospects are looking good and particularly in the Governor's race where Steve Beshear leads David Williams by 30 points.  Williams-Farmer have run an embarrassing parody of a campaign, shot themselves in the feet so many times, that it's almost unbelievable they consider themselves still in the running or even serious candidates.  That said, there's a distinct possibility David Williams could come in third in this race.

From the Courier Journal today:  "Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear has extended his lead to 31 points over Republican Senate President David Williams, with just five weeks left before the Nov. 8 election, according to the latest Courier-Journal/WHAS11 Bluegrass Poll."
