Barack Obama has Defeated the Republican Idiocracy

The economy is in the tank, the market is crashing, unemployment at a 14 year high, the auto industry in ruins, a trillion dollar deficit this year and likely the next because of Bush's malfeasance.  Can America recover?  Even more of a mystery, is George W. Bush on our side or the enemies? And if he is on our side, can we exchange him for 1/2 a barrel of oil and some falafel?

Eight long years, a long national nightmare, is about to come to an end.  The Republican Idiocracy seemed intent upon bringing America to her knees even more enthusiastically than bin Laden. I can only hope that this new president, Barack Obama, who is so impressive and intelligent, can bring about a reversal of our ill fortune brought to us and sponsored by the right wing and the Republicans.

Idiocracy is about to end, the sooner the better.  See below an example of Republican leadership.

Idiocracy Illustrated - Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent

Sarah Palin was  more than a Hail Mary Pass on the part of John McCain, it was pandering on a grand scale.  Only someone intent upon leading an idiocracy would believe women would switch from Hillary Clinton to Sarah Palin solely because of gender.  It was your policies, stupid.  What it comes down to is that this was a political campaign, not the Barnum and Bailey Circus.  There's a sucker born every minute - and choosing Palin was a sucker bet.

A Face in the Crowd - the Limbaugh Role Model

Sing to the tune of "The Brady Bunch' theme song.

Here's the story, about a man named Limbaugh, who thought he was a gift on loan from God.

Then he met a decadent party, restiing on names like Reagan and Bush

They got married and they had a bunch of Ditto Heads-

Ditto Heads, Ditto Heads and they all became a bunch of Ditto Heads

But, really, just faces in the crowd.

Life imitates art.  Just like this movie. A movie that  could be the Rush Limbaugh story.  Rush IS Lonesome Rhodes, with all the malevolence represented by him.   A poisonous, venomous malevolence and here is a sample.

This movie is on TMC on Sunday at 8 pm.  See it -- and think Rush Limbaugh.

For John McCain Lying is Standard Operating Procedure

Joe Klein of Time Magazine calls 'em like he sees 'em -- and he sees John McCain as a liar.

Klein points out that no only is McCain a liar, he's a serial liar of unprecedented proportions in a presidential campaign.

"Worse than the lies have been the smears. McCain ran a television ad claiming that Obama favored "comprehensive" sex education for kindergartners. (Obama favored a bill that would have warned kindergartners about sexual predators and improper touching.)

The accusation that Obama was referring to Sarah Palin when he said McCain's effort to remarket his economic policies was putting "lipstick on a pig" was another clearly misleading attack — an obnoxious attempt to divert attention from Palin's lack of fitness for the job and the recklessness with which McCain chose her. McCain's assault on the "élite media" for spreading rumors about Palin's personal life — actually, the culprits were a few bloggers and the tabloid press — was more of the same.

And that gets us close to the real problem here. The McCain camp has decided that its candidate can't win honorably, on the issues, so it has resorted to transparent and phony diversions."

John McCain - Confused, Disoriented, Unfit

More evidence John McCain is unfit to lead:

""McCain said this near the end of the clip below, as he's talking up Palin's foreign policy/national security credentials:
'I also know, if I might remind you, that she is commander of the Alaska National Guard. In fact, you may know that on Sept. 11 a large contingent of the Alaska Guard deployed to Iraq and her son happened to be one of them. So I think she understands our national security challenges....'

"The ceremony Palin attended at Fort Wainwright last week didn't involve the Alaska National Guard. Palin's son is in the Army, and his unit - 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division - deployed to Iraq.""

But then, McCan apparently thinks Spain and Mexico are the same geographic location.

CBS Edits Out McCain's Embarrassingly Naive Statements - Liberal Media?

McCain sells his version of what happened - of course, that requires him to revise the facts to fit his version.

Noonan Gives Honest Assessment - But not on Purpose

Peggy Noonan let's it all hang out!!  One must take care not to speak into a microphone that may still be on.

Proposed Response to McCain's 'Celebrity Ad'

Time to fight Fire with Fire - here's the celebrities that Obama could use in a response ad to John McCain. No Paris or Brittany among them.

Yosemite Sam. Artist: Friz Freleng.
and

Foghorn Leghornin his natural environment.

but let us not omit

All these cartoons could be used in a commercial against McCain. What a hoot. But then, in John McCain, what a ol' coot.

And There Goes Ted Stevens in the Footsteps of Randy Cunningham, Bob Ley and Others

Indicted on Seven Federal Counts - and he's down for those counts.   It's all about home improvement, without Tim Allen.  Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars worth of home improvements. "

And he made quite the sweet heart deal trading cars, too.  Traded an old Ford for a new Land Rover. What's wrong with American cars, Ted?  No matter - at 85 years of age, Ted's looking at a life sentence.

WE know what a criminal White House looks like -- The Bush White House

Frank Rich Tells It Like It Is:  "And so we’re back where we started in the summer of 2001, with even shark attacks and Chandra Levy’s murder (courtesy of a new Washington Post investigation) returning to the news. We are once again distracted and unprepared while the Taliban and bin Laden’s minions multiply in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This, no less than the defiling of the Constitution, is the legacy of an administration that not merely rationalized the immorality of torture but shackled our national security to the absurdity that torture could easily fix the terrorist threat.

That’s why the Bush White House’s corruption in the end surpasses Nixon’s. We can no longer take cold comfort in the Watergate maxim that the cover-up was worse than the crime. This time the crime is worse than the cover-up, and the punishment could rain down on us all."

A good read.
